(ANSA) - BEIRUT, 08 AUG - The central Martyrs' Square in Beirut is filling up with protesters for the expected anti-government popular rally in protest against the political system, accused of being responsible for the explosions that last Tuesday devastated the Beirut port and numerous districts of the capital, causing the death of more than 150 people, the wounding of another 5 thousand and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of inhabitants.
The demonstrators have set up a series of tablecloths in the square, symbolizing the popular will to hang the men in government and institutional representatives for their responsibilities. One of the slogans spread on social networks and in the square is "Mount the gallows", with the image of the port crane transformed into gallows in the background. "Hang them all!" Says another slogan. (HANDLE).
