Suppose we were now in the episode of "Black Mirror", and invented some kind of futuristic technology that allows virtual reality tours in the minds of other human beings. There will probably be bureaucracy and there will be a waiting list and confidentiality forms, but in the end you can get into whoever you want - see how he thinks and what activates him, learn about his inspirations and deviations, how his thoughts work, what he hides and what he really thinks. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I would like to live inside Siegel Avin's head.

This weekend saw the end of Avin's series, "Losing Alice," which was so wonderful that it didn't need another season. As usual, Avin did what she knows best - write herself, sort of. The protagonist of the story is Alice (Ayelet Zorrer), a respected creator who has taken a break from the glittering industry in favor of bourgeois family life in the suburbs.

An encounter on the train with a young creator, who has written a dark and unusual script, throws Alice's brain and makes her want to get into the head of that girl, Pam Fatal from the Legends (Lehi Kornowski). She violates Alice creatively and releases her, but at the same time also threatens the integrity of her family and complicates her life. It is a psychological battle between powerful women who penetrate one another's head.

And if the creator sees herself as a kind of Alice, then it completely completes the picture. That is why Sigal Avin is considered a wasted talent. Israel is small on it, and it makes sense that all the latest series she has created have been sold abroad ("The Mythical Ex", "Irreversible", a network series on sexual harassment, and now "Alice"). It is impossible to write about Avin without mentioning that she also signed a telenovela Ltd. from 2005, which was a telenovela about a telenovela so self-conscious that it kicked all the rules of the genre and reshaped the daily dramas in the country. And if "irreversible" with Adi Ashkenazi in the role of mother symbolizes adolescence in Avin's work, "Losing Alice" is already a masterpiece that blew my mind.

The shaky end of season 8 episode 8 was accompanied by a strange silence. Alice advanced to the storm without a buzz. She snatched killings from critics and floating complaints abandoned in the early episodes. Impatient Israelis, it is known, but that is not the only reason an Israeli audience did not understand it. "Alice" is a smoky, dark, erotic, artistic and very slow thriller. The series looks and works like a European film, such a film noir with dumb locations, rough colors, nudity and violence, insights into life, a twisted plot and a scattered mystery that converges into a rewarding ending that re-stitches the plot lines impressively.

• Summer 2020 hits: disconnected, tired

• The actress who wanted to leave "Friends"

• Sigal Avin: "When everything connected, it was a great relief"

because there are no Israeli symbols in the series, that is, apart from Hebrew, there is a situation that will attract more interest and viewers when it airs soon on the Apple TV international platform and competes at the Cannes Film Festival. And we did not start talking about the wonderful photography or the mesmerizing acting display of the cast - and especially the divine Lehi Kornowski. "Losing Alice" is a must-see series. But not just to see, you have to invest in it. Dim lights, light candles, enter the atmosphere and try to enter Sigal Avin's head.
