France Télévisions will organize a big concert for Lebanon

The show should be broadcast in September on France 2. Big names from France and Lebanon will of course be there.

After the emotion, the mobilization. Less than a week after the two explosions at the port of Beirut, which left more than 150 dead and 6,000 injured in the Lebanese capital last Tuesday, France Télévisions is organizing to take action. According to our information, Delphine Ernotte, the patron saint of public channels, asked the famous Franco-Lebanese trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf to organize a large charity concert. The goal is to raise funds to help rebuild the country.

“Lebanon is going through a terrible ordeal. France Télévisions is alongside the artists to organize a major concert of support and solidarity for the benefit of Lebanon and its affected population, explains the president of the public group, contacted this weekend. But beyond our public service mission, it is also a matter of showing our fraternity to the Lebanese people wounded by too many tragedies. "

France Télé promises international stars

If the principle is implemented, there are now a host of details to settle. Starting with the list of guests for this evening. France Télévisions promises an exceptional program with French and Lebanese artists, but also other international sizes. Unsurprisingly, Matthieu Chedid, a great friend of Ibrahim Maalouf, who also has Lebanese roots, should be there. Just like Bernard Lavilliers, who had demanded the organization of such a concert for, he explained to the Parisian a few days ago, "to raise funds, of course, but also in order to show the Lebanese people of our moral support, our solidarity ”.

The only certainty so far is that the concert will take place in Paris and will be broadcast live on France 2 in the first part of the evening. As well as on France Inter, since Radio France will also be a partner of this evening. Neither the presenters nor the date have been chosen yet, but the evening will take place this fall, once the start of the school year.
