  • Memory could be impaired when consuming the oil

Munich / Schnaitsee - The kitchen cannot be imagined without it: Oil is needed for cooking, frying, baking and deep-frying. However, caution is advised with a very special product. Apparently too much THC got into a certain batch of a hemp oil . That is why the Garting oil mill is recalling its organic oil from the Bavarian Schnaitsee near Wasserburg am Inn as a precaution .

The Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety warns against this product, as reported by heidelberg24.de. "Due to the existing health risk, the Garting oil mill is recalling the article organic hemp oil with the best before date 06.05.2021," says the company's press release, which can be found on the consumer protection website food warning.de.

Recall of oil: Increased levels of THC detected

The recall * was initiated because the oil has an increased THC value * of 0.04 percent. In Germany, according to the Narcotics Act, the THC limit for oil is 0.2 percent. So it is still well below that. According to the Federal Ministry of Health, a person weighing around 80 kilograms should not consume more than seven milliliters - that is roughly one teaspoon.
