  • SAVING TIP 1 - anticipatory driving:To save fuel , drive your car in high gears at low speeds as much as possible. The Naturschutzbund (NABU) and the ADAC offer regular fuel-saving courses where you can learn to drive a car in a fuel-efficient manner.
  • SAVING TIP 3 - the right tires: To save fuel and keep the tank full, the right tires are important. When the tire pressure is increased, the contact area and rolling resistance are reduced. You save gasoline, as reported by the specialist magazine "AutoMotor & Sport". However, the braking distance will then also be longer, which is why you should not overdo it. Special narrow tires with low rolling resistance also help to save fuel.
  • SAVING TIP 4 - Use air conditioning, heating & Co. sparingly:To save fuel , park in the shade in summer to use the air conditioning economically. A parking heater that is connected to the engine also consumes gasoline . If you want to avoid using more petrol in winter, only use the parking heater if the duration of your car journey is at least as long as your heater needs to heat up. Fuel consumption also increases with seat heating, radio and the like .
  • TIP 5 - Low-viscosity oil: ADAC recommends using low-viscosity oil . Because the low-viscosity engine oil reduces friction and wear on the engine. The engine can turn more easily and saves fuel.
  • SAVING TIP 6 - take less with you: According to AutoMotor & Sport, you save between 0.1 and 0.3 liters of petrol per 100 kilograms that you don't take with you into the car. So less baggage is more.
