An unforgettable credits, a talking car and David Hasselhoff. Three essential elements of the 1980s after the launch of the Knight Rider series , K 2000 in France. Former police officer recruited by FLEG, a secret organization, Michael Long becomes Michael Knight. To fight crime, he is accompanied by KITT, a smart car equipped with a slew of gadgets. Great success of the time, often rebroadcast on television, K 2000 will soon be adapted for cinema.

According to Variety's information , Spyglass Media Group and director James Wan - to whom we owe among other things Aquaman - have teamed up to bring the series to the big screen, while Judson Scott ( Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan ) will be the executive producer. For the moment, no other information has been communicated and the presence of David Hasselhoff in the casting remains a mystery. However, this is not the first time that a project to adapt K 2000 has seen the light of day.

In 2006, the Weinstein Company, owner of the rights to the series, had looked into a similar project and had even made good progress. In 2013, the writing was entrusted to Brad Copeland ( Arrested Development ) and David Hasselhoff was dismissed in favor of Paul Walker, still alive at the time. But for one reason or another, it was all forgotten. Before, of course, the Weinstein affair broke.
