"It is not that there will be no promotion, but that there will not be automatic promotion , which is different," the official insisted in dialogue with FM Milenium.
Asked about the promotion of the contents of the current school year, the holder of the educational portfolio specified: "When we say that there will be no automatic promotion, we mean that a boy finishes third and will not start fourth as he was this year, but the fourth grade next year is going to be exceptional because, before advancing in the curriculum of that year, we will have to guarantee the pending learning of third ".

The issue generates doubts and uncertainty among parents and students who are studying in state primary and secondary schools in the Metropolitan Area (AMBA).
Clarín spoke with several of them and they all agree that so far there have been no evaluations with notes, nor no bulletin . Instead, they gave pedagogical reports, returns of work (with messages such as "very good" or "approved") and comments on the performance of the students. As to what will happen this December and during the next year, it is a mystery.
“ It is not at all clear . There was a pedagogical evaluation, which they sent us now in the middle of the year, and I estimate that by the end of the year it will be the same. But they did not inform us how the promotion will be. Nothing is known, there is no information, ”says Carolina Marino, mother of three boys (4th and 6th grade and 3rd year) in public schools in Buenos Aires.
“I believe that this year it will be approved for everyone. Those who have done something, those who have not done anything… I don't think they can evaluate ”, says Marino.
Soledad Romano, mother of two girls, also from public schools in the City (one in 1st year and the other in a special school), agrees that the subject "is not discussed" and that " it is not known what will happen " .

"They tell you one thing, they tell you another, and in reality they tell you that until this is over they can't even think about how it will be," he explains. “Many say that this year they are going to pass the course and that next year they will put together what they did not see this year with that of next year. What are you going to do as an inclusive year . Others say they are hopeful that they can start in October. But nothing is clear yet, "concludes Soledad.
The doubts multiply. Are the boys going to be evaluated at the end of the year? Are they all going to spend the year or will there be repeaters? Next year will they have to receive content that this year they did not receive?
"I think nothing is known , " answers Clarín –to these questions- the education specialist Gustavo Iaies, director of the School of Educational Management of the ESEADE University Institute.
“It seems to me that we must think of a Ministry that sets the parameters and schools that evaluate and define. I don't think there is a way of thinking about a single national evaluation ”, continues Iaies, who proposes“ that the parameters be set and the schools define how to reach them ”.
“I don't know if at the end of the year, but you have to keep the kids in the system, and think about evaluation and recovery models per school. The principal, the teacher or the teacher and the parents must assume the commitment. We must guarantee the learning, the goals that are sought, and the boys must know the effort. The school can do it. You have to assume a ministry that sets parameters and schools that work with children ”, concludes the specialist.
