Too good to be true? New Zealand had not recorded any cases of coronavirus with transmission on its soil for more than three months. Until Tuesday, August 11, when four cases were identified "within the same household" and unrelated to abroad, explained Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
"After 102 days, we have our first cases of Covid-19 recorded [...] while we have all worked incredibly hard to prevent this scenario," said the head of government. Faced with this slight recovery, she ordered a three-day local containment for the inhabitants of the city of Auckland.
