Discrimination or not? The International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (Licra) was offended by the existence of a list of black gynecologists in Île-de-France and a classified ad from a patient, who was looking for a nurse in black domicile in Paris. "Identity madness," says the Licra if everyone chooses their doctor according to their skin color.

The College of Physicians also reacted vigorously, in accordance with Republican principles. He “is totally opposed to keeping a directory of community health professionals, because this contravenes the non-discrimination enacted in article 7 of its code of ethics, the fundamental values ​​of medical humanism and the foundation of a Republic and its secular values, ”explains its vice-president Jean-Marcel Mourgues. “If there is discrimination, we must report it and, if necessary, that these doctors be punished. "

An opinion that the union of young general practitioners prefers to qualify: "What poses a problem is that there are patients who feel discriminated against in health and that this problem is not resolved by the institutions which should adjust it. The freedom to choose

A black patient prefers to choose. She shares one problem among others that pushes her to prefer a practitioner of sub-Saharan origin: “At the time of the surgical operations, we absolutely could not bear the thread to sew.
