A large fire originated in a grassland area, on the Quilmes waterfront, 500 meters from the Buenos Aires - La Plata highway.

The Bernal and Berazategui firefighters are already working on the scene to douse the flames, which are clearly visible from kilometer 24 of the highway.

According to Fabián García, Provincial Director of Civil Defense, it is a difficult area for firefighters to access: "There are no houses in the place, but it will cause a loss to the native flora," he wrote on Twitter, accompanied by a photo of the fire.
