French cinemas have risen above the one million weekly spectator mark, reaching 1,083,245 admissions, thanks to two releases: the comedy Les Blagues de Toto and the disaster film Greenland, according to CBO Box office figures published on Wednesday . That's 140,000 tickets sold more than the previous week. But cinemas have been struggling since their reopening on June 22, with three times fewer spectators than the average before the health crisis.

Even if it progresses during this week of August 5 to 11, attendance is indeed down by nearly 75% compared to the same period of 2019.

In this context, three outings take the top spot directly. On the first step, the French comedy Les Bblagues de Toto , with 205,528 spectators. The American disaster film Greenland - The Last Refuge, the only big-budget American film on screens, comes just behind with 193,402 viewers, followed by the animated film Bigfoot Family with 84,767 viewers.
