Lidl has been testing the digital customer card since 2019 - but only in branches in Berlin and Brandenburg. Now the time has come and the Lidl Plus app is to be rolled out across Germany, as reported by RUHR24.de *.
Customers who have downloaded the Lidl Plus app can look forward to discounts, competitions and a digital receipt. And that seems to be going down pretty well too. The digital customer card has already been downloaded half a million times in Germany. It was also rated 4.3 out of 5 stars in the Google Play Store.
That sounds promising and like a real innovation from the discounter Lidl (more news about supermarkets and discounters at RUHR24.de *). But Lidl itself also wants to benefit from the app and not just selflessly give its customers discounts.
