Beirut: George was born shortly after the explosion

Edmond Khnaisser films with his cell phone how his wife is pushed into the delivery room in Beirut. Suddenly he is thrown against the wall by the explosion. A little later, George is born.

This is George ... George was born on August 4th. It was the day that half of Beirut was reduced to rubble by the massive explosion in the port. 

O-Ton Emanuelle Khnaisser mother of George "I saw death with my own eyes. I thought," Is it over now? ". I looked around and up at the ceiling, just waiting for it to fall on us. I knew not what to do. Then I said to myself, that's it, George should come, he has to come to life, and I have to be very strong. I mustn't break down ".

The father, Edmond Khnaisser, filmed the moments at St. George Hospital during the birth of his son. Shortly after his wife was pushed into the operating room, pressure waves rocked the hospital 

Original sound Edmond Khnaisser father of George "George is very special. He is the light in the darkness or the birth in ruins. Despite all the horrors around us there was n , George was born in good health."

 The gynecologist comes to visit about a week later. . She too should never forget the birth of George.  

O-Ton Stephanie Yacoub, Head of Gynecology "There was no electricity and the sun was beginning to set, so we knew we had to do this as quickly as possible. And with the help of the light from the smartphones of those present, he was born.

The parents can hardly believe their luck that they and their newborn son survived the disaster in Beirut unscathed.  

 O-Tom Edmond Khnaisser "We spent 4 days after the explosion laughing and crying. We thought we'd gone crazy, we laughed and cried, but at the same time people were hurt around us. We were scared around people, but at the same time we were happy. It (the feeling) is indescribable ".

 Edmond's mother was injured in the hospital explosion. Seventeen people died in St. George Hospital in the immediate aftermath of the explosion.
