The body of Rosa Inés Fernández, the 29-year-old woman who had been missing since July 26 in Junín, was found this Thursday morning wrapped in a tarp and buried in a construction site where her ex-partner worked, detained since on Wednesday.

The Junín prosecutor in charge of the case, Esteban Pedernera, reported that the finding occurred after two witnesses came forward spontaneously and provided precise information about what happened to the victim, since the accused himself, Sandro González (40) , he had confessed them.

The body was at the construction site that the now detained man was in charge of on a plot of 624 Syria Street, Junín.

"Yesterday (Wednesday) the fence began to close, a strong testimony appeared that we could corroborate with other testimonies and at 7:30 p.m. I ordered the urgent arrest of the accused and from that moment we began to plan the search for the body because it was very categorical that Rosa she was dead, "the prosecutor told TN channel.

"We found the body wrapped behind a wall, buried a meter away and on it there was earth movement, a lot of compacted debris, it was very well hidden," he explained.

Based on the statements of the witnesses, the prosecutor said that everything indicates that the femicide was committed on Sunday, July 26 at González's home, where an argument took place between the two members of the ex-partner - who had three children in common. - for an "economic question".

"We have referenced that (González) received a slap and he takes her by the neck, at the moment he feels that he fades, falls to his feet and there he tells of having wrapped her in a blanket that he used to cover the car and in a light blue canvas. He loaded it into the trunk of the car and the next day he took advantage of the fact that he was working on the construction site, dug the well and buried it, "said Pedernera.

The prosecutor said that there were no judicial complaints for gender-based violence against women , although during the investigation elements emerged about the violent relationship they had maintained at least since they had separated.

Pedernera reported that the victim's body was sent to the judicial morgue so that the rigorous autopsy could be carried out and that in principle the hypothesis is that the victim was hanged manually.

Finally, the prosecutor said that he believes that González acted alone, since his ex-wife was of small physical build and he was used to more demanding tasks, so he would not have needed someone to transfer her to the work and bury her.

In the last ten years in Argentina there is an average of one femicide every 30 hours. According to statistics from the Office of Domestic Violence of the Supreme Court, in 2018 alone there were 278. Most murders occur in the homes of the victims and are committed by partners or exes.
