Hugo Sigman , owner of the Insud Group, to which the mAbxience laboratory belongs, member of the consortium that will manufacture the vaccine against the coronavirus of the University of Oxford  in Argentina, assured this Thursday that "no government played any role, it was a private negotiation "on the arrival of this production to the country. He also announced that they will begin to produce it "now" and that it  will be ready by December .

"It was a negotiation between private parties. AstraZeneca - a laboratory associated with Oxford - approached us and understood that the best factory in the region was ours. They made inspections and technological considerations and confirmed that we have the experience and adequate facilities" Sigman said in dialogue with Radio Miter .

The businessman also said that the plant "is located in Garín, Escobar's district" and that there "with the most important biotechnological pole in Latin America where 1800 people work, 600 of them scientists" they are already beginning to work with the production of the vaccine.

"We are going to produce the vaccine at risk. The approval for yes or no will be in December or January and we are going to start producing the vaccine now," he revealed.

Sigman also said that "a minimum of 150 million doses and a maximum of 250 million" will be produced for all of Latin America, "with the exception of Brazil, which has another agreement." He also confirmed that "the funding for this comes from the Slim Foundation, the Liomont laboratory" and his laboratory.

For his part, he stated that "Latin America will have the vaccine at the same time as the United States and Europe" unlike what happened with the Flu A "where developing countries received the products later." That was one of the conditions that was set when he began a dialogue with the Slim family, he said.
