"As if someone in me had turned up the stove" - that's how Michelle Obama experienced her menopause at times. That said the former first lady in the latest episode of her podcast in conversation with a gynecologist friend. In addition, Barack Obama's wife called for women to be more concerned with their own sexuality and their bodies.
"I want my daughters to grow up and find out about themselves because sexuality is related to other things to do with their own health," Obama said. Mammograms and cervical swabs are important. And: "But if you feel you can Don't touch your chest because you just can't do that, and you'll never notice a lump, "said Obama." And if you don't have regular swabs, you probably won't even see a doctor anyway. "
She is happy to be able to talk to her children about these topics and hopes that they feel comfortable in their bodies. Therefore, there should be no taboos when talking about the body and sexuality. Obama has two daughters with her husband: 19-year-old Sasha and 22-year-old Malia.
When it came to menopause, Obama didn’t mince his words: "And then everything started to melt," said the ex-first lady, remembering a severe hot flash that she had before an appearance on board the presidential helicopter "Marine One". She thought that she could not attend the event.
Obama started her podcast in July and interviewed her husband for the first episode. In the weekly episodes she is devoted to current and socially relevant topics. Initially, nine episodes are planned.
