At temperatures of more than 30 degrees, one of the parents in Bückeburg, Lower Saxony, forgot their two-year-old daughter in the car.
As the police announced, passers-by reported on Wednesday afternoon that a crying child was sitting in a car and that there was no one to be seen anywhere.
The girl was freed after several minutes through a half-open window and supplied with water, as reported by the "Mindener Tageblatt".
The parents, identified by the police using the license plate, said that they had forgotten their child after shopping. The police initiated criminal investigations against them and informed the responsible youth welfare office.
