(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 13 - The new dates of the International BNL of Italy have been defined, postponed this year due to Covid. The main draw will take place 14 to 21 September, therefore with the last day of Monday, in the frame of the Italian Forum. The game will therefore be played with one week ahead of the dates initially scheduled after the cancellation of the Madrid tournament.
    In the next few days - reads the Federtennis website - it will be decided whether the men's qualification draw will be expanded to 64 players and in this case the matches will start on 11 September. Otherwise it will start on Saturday 12th. Furthermore, as the tournament director SergioPalmieri pointed out in an interview with SuperTennis, the semifinalists of the US Open (31 August-13 September) will have a bye on their debut with the possibility of taking the field no earlier than Wednesday or Thursday. On the qualifying weekend, Saturday 12th September, the elective Assembly of the Italian Tennis Federation will also take place, again in the park of the Foro Italico.
    The new tennis calendar is taking shape.
