Leonardo Fernández is a worker from Corrientes who charges metered parking in the center of the provincial capital. In his daily work he found a check valued at two million pesos and looked for its owner to return it, and in return he received only 300 pesos .

Every day Leonardo goes to his assigned workplace on Calle San Juan in the capital of Corrientes. On Wednesday afternoon, he found a check lying in the gutter of Calle San Juan almost San Martín.

“I live in the Santa Catalina neighborhood, there I have my land and my little house. I went to the San Antonio neighborhood where my mother lives to use her phone book, ”Leonardo told El Litoral. The guide was to look up, as was done in the old days, the name and number of the person who had misplaced the check.

"As soon as he attended to me I heard the noise of papers, he began to rummage through his things, it is clear that he had no idea that he had lost it, " he said.

The owner of the check asked him where he could look for it, Leonardo indicated that both in the morning and in the afternoon he is at his job.

“He arrived in a large truck, model 2020, and gave me a reward of 300 pesos . I asked him to buy me merchandise for my son, bread, flour, milk. I told him that I didn't want the cash, but I did want him to help me with something of greater value, "said Leonardo, although he received no response. The owner of the check assured him that it was all he had and withdrew.

And he added: "I asked the man to help me to avoid a problem." As he told El Litoral , he earns eight pesos per car for his work and expected a more generous response from the man.

Leonardo finds something every day. "I am always attentive in the street, to take care of the cars and that nothing happens to them," he said. This week he also found a glucose meter for diabetes and put it in his backpack. After a while, he saw an old lady looking for something on the street, he approached her to ask her what she had missed. The meter belonged to him. Leonardo proudly tells: "The lady was very grateful, she posted a photo with me on Facebook."

Despite receiving a meager reward after returning the check, he reflected, "God knows I'm a good person and he's going to repay me ."
