The ceramic cups on the seat of a motorcycle, three friends in their 40s chat and have coffee on the sidewalk of a bar in San Isidro, which since this week has enabled gastronomic establishments to work under the modality of "take away plus " , a curious way of calling him to eat and drink on the sidewalk, although without tables and keeping the distance between groups of customers.

"This is the first time I have gone out in five months," says Nicolás, 42. "No more banking. In fact, the reality is that no more banking. We are locked up with my four children and my wife, I no longer give, and it is a relief. We are taking all possible precautions, but it was necessary", ensures. Beside him, Pedro, the four-year-old son of his "lifelong" friend Patricio, says he has a dog.

The scene takes place in the path of Pepino, on Avenida Libertador and Pueyrredón. The restaurant, founded in 1961, brought wooden chairs to its outdoor patio and sidewalk as well. About 40 people, as a family and groups of friends, have coffee sitting in the sun with 17 degrees of temperature this Saturday, the first since the measure came into force.

Nicolás and his friends live in San Isidro. But many of those who took over the sidewalks came from other nearby districts, from the Capital and even from the southern part of the GBA , although the authorization for this mode of consumption only reaches nearby neighbors. Among all the clients from other areas with whom Clarín was able to talk , there was no question that they were doing something wrong. Many were not very clear that the "allowed" was only for Sanisidrenses. For others, it is the laundering of a situation that is in fact already occurring.

Distance, chairs and drawers

In most of the groups that this chronicler observed, they keep two meters apart. In other circumstances we could talk about tables, but now they were suppressed by protocol. So many use Coca-Cola's plastic drawers to support drink or potato chip trays, all in disposable packaging. Every time someone leaves, a waiter sprays alcohol on the chairs.

"Take away plus," says the black chalkboard on the sidewalk in front of the Forest Dan pub in yellow chalk. At first glance it seems like a common day , outside of the coronavirus pandemic, but the 50 people who consume on the sidewalk use chairs as tables to support the food and there is no trace of the usual beers. In groups of six, three or in pairs, everyone decided to take a break from the confinement of isolation and chat without masks on the sidewalk .

Jonathan, 32, admits he is from Belgrano. "We had not seen each other for four or five months with the boys. Always respecting the measures, but this is good to exchange for a little while," he says, adding that this measure by Gustavo Posse's administration is "like whitewashing what is already happening in the city parks, where you go to have a drink with friends on the weekend ". At his side, Leandro (31) ensures that he did not hesitate to make the trip from Quilmes to see his friends. None of the group (there are five) was stopped by any control.

"We are going to fight it so that in our party they also apply it," says Sebastián, 43, in another group outside of Forest Dan. He arrived with five friends from the neighborhood, from San Martín, where they live. A girl takes note of the orders and asks a newly arrived couple to find seats: you cannot stand still .

Another sign on the sidewalk proposes "End the day with a wine" (End the day with a wine), but except through the delivery you cannot sell alcohol. The owner of the bar, Maximiliano, says that he has 28 employees in charge, who collect ATP, and that he had to take out a loan to be able to bear the costs of the bar with practically no billing. "This is a relief for us merchants and so that people can go out a little. It is a palliative and helps to revive," he says.

No controls

From a table, Maria, 34 years old, talks with six friends. They are from Tigre, Escobar, San Isidro, Colegiales, Palermo and Cardales, but neither did they have to go through a vehicle control, neither those of the Province nor those that came from the Capital. No one checked her documentation anywhere. In the areas that Clarín toured , he also did not see agents checking documents or circulation permits.

"We had not seen each other six months ago. At this time there were surgeries, horns, divorces, pregnancies, weight gains, everything. It was essential to be together, " says María about the reason that led them with their friends to get into their cars and drive to San Isidro.

Closer to the river, young people ride their bikes and chat while picnicking on the grass. In Taller, one of the open bars, about 30 people chat over red glasses on the sidewalk. Some sat on the floor, others on the wooden chairs. "One hundred pesos a glass of beer," announces a vendor from inside the premises.

"I can't believe seeing their faces without a chinstrap, " says a girl in a pink beanie who talks to two friends. A fourth arrives and greets them with a kiss. A few meters away, others hug. Two friends eat French fries with beet sauce and roquefort.

The mayor Posse told FM Milenium this Saturday in statements to FM Milenium that his daughter is isolated by positive covid and detailed that the measure of "take away plus" responds to the fact that "as we do not have a high population density, our line was always the use of air free in the municipality . We have an R below 1, 9 days ago more were recovered than infected ". And he argued: "Today there is a normal average life everywhere . The mayors made a great effort and a part of society did not give a ball."
