A 5-year-old boy died this Saturday in Plottier, less than 20 kilometers from Neuquén, due to cardiac arrest and it is being investigated whether the fatal outcome was caused by the ingestion of chlorine dioxide .

It was the declaration of the baby's relatives to the hospital workers that triggered this hypothesis, although an attempt is still being made to determine the causes of his death.

According to LaMañana  , the Neuquén media , the 5-year-old boy entered the Hospital guard after 0.30 this Saturday without vital signs. "Doctors tried to revive him by performing CPR for 50 minutes. Despite their efforts, the little boy died," they reported.

Chlorine dioxide was at the center of controversy in the country after some public figures promoted it to fight the coronavirus. Among them, the host Viviana Canosa took it live during her program on Channel 9 .

The ANMAT recommended days ago that unauthorized drugs should not be consumed.
