- MINSK, AUG 16 - Several tens of thousands of Belarusian opponents gathered in the square in Minsk for the long-awaited "Freedom March" against President Alexander Lukashenko in what appears to be the largest rally since the protests began a week ago.
The demonstrators started marching along VialeIndipendenza chanting "Go away!" directed to the disputed leader.
A march in favor of Lukashenko is also taking place in the capital of Belarus today.
