If the increase in the number of infections does not stop, the reopening of Italian schools in September could be compromised . Experts say this in these hours, calling for the responsibility of everyone, starting with the children, and maximum respect for the rules to avoid a restart of the school year without pupils in the classes. A voice in this sense has come from the World Health Organization. Deputy Director Ranieri Guerra fears the danger of arriving at 14 September "with a number of cases that would make the reopening very dangerous". From Lazio, the councilor for health Alessio D'Amato warns: "We are back to the levels of May, if this continues we risk jeopardizing the opening of schools in safety".
Meanwhile, on August 19, the CTS meeting will deal with the reopening of schools. The Scientific Technical Committee, according to what has already been leaked, will reiterate that there is no derogation from the obligation of a physical distance of one meter between students in the classroom. If it is impossible to guarantee the meter of distance, students will have to wear the surgical mask and there must be adequate ventilation. The derogation will in any case be allowed for a limited period of time - government consultants continue to reiterate for the health emergency - and in the meantime, solutions will have to be adopted as soon as possible to ensure the prescribed distancing.
The single-seater benches will however be the solution in many cases.
