Ira Turkey for Biden criticism, 'ignorant and hypocritical'

(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 16 - Turkey's anger over some criticisms of the democratic candidate for the US presidency Joe Bidennei against President Recpe Tayyip Erdogan. Biden had spoken in an interview with the New York Times in December, but yesterday the video of the interview appeared and immediately went viral on social media.
    The former US vice president called Erdogan an "autocrat" and criticized his policy towards the Kurds, declaring his support for the opposition. We must, said Biden, "encourage the opposition to face and defeat Erdogan. Not with a coup, but with the electoral process".
    Ankara's reaction was immediate. "Joe Biden's analysis of Turkey is based on pure ignorance, arrogance and hypocrisy," Erdogan's spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin attacked on Twitter.
   "Gone are the days of giving orders to Turkey.
   But if you still think you can try, you are welcome. You will pay the price," he insisted. (HANDLE).
