Zeppelin is the market leader in the rental of construction machinery - and because the man already has a customer account, the company delivers the device promptly and without asking.
The Zeppelin employee only noticed three days later that the caller might be a criminal. Her eye falls on an email from a colleague from Bautzen. Beware of Mr. Demir, the Saxon colleague warns, he has just embezzled an excavator.
Is your machine gone now too? She alerts the police. When the officers arrive at the construction site an hour later, it is too late. The yellow excavator, new price 200,000 euros and weighing 15 tons, has disappeared. There is also no construction worker to be seen. An eyewitness later recalled that the machine had been loaded onto a new red Mercedes truck. The vehicle had a Croatian registration.
