"The Scariest Hotel in America": Welcome to the Clowns Hotel - next to the cemetery

Located on the road to Vegas is a hotel with over two thousand dolls of clowns, most of whom are responsible for the CEO who just fell in love with the idea. And if that's not scary enough - then next to the hotel is an old cemetery

Enter (at your own risk) for the night at the Clown motel - the home of more than 2,000 scary clowns and also some ghosts. The creepy hotel is located in the town of Tonopa, Nevada, and is the perfect place for clown lovers, and a nightmare for everyone else. To make matters more stressful, it is located next to an old cemetery. Unsurprisingly, it has been dubbed "America's Scariest Motel".

Try to imagine a quiet night in a haunted hotel full of clowns. And if that's exactly what you like, thank its owner, Heim Anand. It all started in his homeland, India, when 14-year-old Anand went with his friend to the local circus, and when he was surrounded by tigers, elephants and acrobats, he escaped after a quarter of an hour. He was persuaded to try again, and returned there, when his worldview had completely changed, and he began to laugh and enjoy the place. "I fell in love with everything," he told Thrillist, "from that day on I started collecting clowns"

In 2017 Anded lived in Las Vegas, and at the time he already had 200 clowns in his collection, working 10 hours a day on Amazon and helping his family in their hotel business, while marketing. Not far from him was Bob Percetti, the original owner of the Clown Motel, which had "only" 800 clowns at the time. After years of leading one of the lesser-known attractions on Route 95, he decided to retire and sell the place for $ 900,000. By chance Anand's brother offered to buy him a hotel and everything worked out on the spot.

There were only a few problems: Tonopa is a hole compared to the great tourism of Vegas, with a little over 2,400 residents, and next to the hotel is a cemetery, something that for Anand was actually particularly positive. He explains: "If someone had $ 10 million, he would not do such a thing. I said to my brother: You see? This hotel is already popular, and the cemetery? It's the catch."

After becoming CEO of the Clown Motel, Anand said he began to notice strange noises like footsteps on the carpet, noises or doors opening and closing. "I was scared at first, I couldn't sleep in my room," he recalls, Here? There's probably a force majeure. They wanted me to run this hotel, so they probably wouldn 't mess with me.

According to guests, rooms 108, 109, 210, 215 and 217 seem to be the rooms where the supernatural incidents occur. Anand is very fond of marketing the fear effect, creating the "Friday the 13th", "Halloween", "Exorcism" and "It" rooms. He also wants to produce rooms with a view of the cemetery.

People from all over the world come to the hotel, from Germany, France, Scotland, England and Switzerland. He suggests visitors leave the clowns in a place that is their home. "My grandmother once told me, if you're downstairs, look at the clown," is the line I grew up with. That's why I started collecting the clowns. The clown is a smiling creature, and he makes me laugh.
