In Brandenburg and several Berlin districts, the police searched 18 apartments and shops on Monday. The investigators confiscated weapons, ammunition and cash in five figures.
This was preceded by investigations against eleven suspects between 25 and 56 years of age for illegal arms trafficking, cocaine trafficking and serious robbery, the public prosecutor and police in the capital announced. Two men, aged 30 and 32, were arrested. They are said to have gagged and robbed a senior couple in 2018.
They are accused of attacking the couple in their apartment, threatening them with a gun and handcuffing them. In total, they took loot worth around 18,000 euros.
A total of around 350 officers from Berlin and Brandenburg were on duty. The newspaper "BZ" reported that the action was directed against suspects from the area of organized crime in the rocker milieu.
