"My (adopted) grandmother died of Covid, my godmother died of Covid," reports the visibly battered Stone in a video that she published on her Instagram account. "My sister is fighting for her life in the hospital," she continues.
She had spoken in the past about her sister, who suffered from the autoimmune disease lupus. Now the sister is seriously ill with the corona virus and is being treated in a hospital, as is her husband.
At the beginning of the corona pandemic, the couple initially went into self-isolation. Kelly Stone then posted a video on her Instagram account in which she said, "I fight for every breath."
According to Sharon Stone, the 86-year-old mother of the two women, who was also ill, tried to have a corona test done - in vain. In Montana, this is only possible if you show symptoms. The fact that you have had contact with infected people is not enough. "Anyone who says there are tests is lying," says Stone.
According to official statistics, there are 5,750 Covid-19 cases in the state of Montana. 82 people have died from the corona virus so far.
Her calls to health officials and Governor Steve Bullock were either not answered or not answered, Stone complains. Meanwhile, people with guns in their hands demonstrated for their right not to wear masks.
In June, according to newspaper reports, the governor announced an initiative whereby people without corona symptoms can also be tested - at the expense of the state of Montana. At the same time, he lifted the quarantine requirement for visitors from other states. A mask requirement was only introduced in mid-July.
The actress is convinced that it is Donald Trump's policy, a policy of greed, that has led to these untenable conditions. She strongly recommends that all viewers go to the upcoming presidential election and cast their vote for Democratic nominee-designate Joe Biden and vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris. This is the only way to change the situation. Because the only countries, according to Stone, that have successfully fought against Covid-19 have women in leadership. "Do not choose a murderer," her explicit warning.
