A few days of almost perfect weather, full of squares and hubbub, are ending. During the morning of Tuesday, August 18, the SMN issued three alerts in some areas of the national territory for intense winds with gusts and the probability of strong storms. "The advance of very cold air through the Patagonian Region causes intense winds from the southwest with speeds between 50 and 70 km / h with gusts in Santa Cruz, Chubut and Rio Negro", it warned in one of its parts. The air flow from the southwest is expected to cover the entire surface of Neuquén and La Pampa, south of Mendoza and southwest of the province of Buenos Aires. The intensity of the winds will also persist in the mountain areas of Jujuy, Salta and Catamarca with gusts of between 60 and 90 kilometers per hour.
The forecast announces isolated rains and storms in the north of Misiones: "It is expected that they will intensify starting in the afternoon and may cause abundant water fall in short periods, significant electrical activity, gusts and occasional hail fall. Precipitation values are estimated accumulated between 40 and 70 mm that can be overcome in a timely manner ".
But beyond this, experts speak of the strongest polar cold outbreak this year.
