(ANSA) - MOSCOW, AUGUST 18 - Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak tested positive for coronavirus. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin declared this. "Unfortunately Alexander has contracted the coronavirus: let us wish him with all our hearts to recover," Mishustin said.
"He came here and returned to Moscow without attending the meeting. May God grant him good health," Mishustin said at a meeting of the government commission for socio-economic development of the Russian Far East, held in Blagoveshchensk.
A representative from the Russian Ministry of Energy told Interfax that the minister tested positive in Kamchatka and returned to Moscow where his coronavirus diagnosis was confirmed by two more tests. Novak is doing well and will attend the virtual meeting of the OPEC + Ministerial Joint Monitoring Committee on Wednesday.
But that's not all. Some journalists from the government pool tested positive for the Covid-19 test during Mishustin's trip to the Far East. The journalists were isolated in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and brought back to Moscow, under the supervision of doctors, by a plane of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations. Other journalists tested positive in Blagoveshchensk. They too were isolated and sent back to Moscow in strict compliance with health requirements. (HANDLE).
