The circulation of the virus does not seem to stop. After a peak of more than 3,000 daily cases recorded this weekend, France has recorded 2,238 new Covid-19 contaminations in the past 24 hours, according to a new report published Tuesday by the Directorate General of Health.
In detail, 29 new sources of contamination were identified, bringing the total number of clusters to 1041, of which 655 were closed. The positivity rate of the tests, evaluated at 2.9% Monday, is now 3%, according to Public Health France.
Stable figures in hospitals
The figures for hospitalizations and intensive care beds remain stable, with 4,823 patients hospitalized after an infection and 380 in intensive care, or 4 less compared to Monday.
22 new deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours. A new update on deaths in social and medico-social establishments (including nursing homes) brings the total to 10,511 deaths in their enclosures. As for hospitals, there are 19,940 deaths. France therefore deplores 30,451 deaths due to Covid-19.
Twenty-eight departments are in a situation of moderate or high vulnerability, also alert the health authorities. “If you've been on vacation in an area of active virus circulation, get tested on your return.
