(ANSA-AFP) - ROME, AUGUST 18 - Salim Ayash, the alleged Hezbollah member who was the main accused in the attack in which the former Lebanese Prime Minister RafiqHariri was killed on February 14, 2005, was found guilty by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon of the UN. The other three defendants were found not guilty. The Lebanese media reports. All four are fugitives.
According to the court, which today read the verdict in Leidschendam, the Netherlands, there is not enough evidence to convict the other three defendants, Assad Sabra, HusseinOneissi and Hassan Merhi.
After today's verdict, the sentence with the sentence imposed on Ayash will be handed down at a later time. However, the condemned man has a month to appeal against the green man.
