Piers Morgan: wife writes about burglary on her vacation in southern France

Burglars are said to have entered the home of British TV presenter Piers Morgan and his wife Celia Walden in the south of France - while the two slept in it. The incident took place early Thursday morning, wrote Walden in her column in the Telegraph. When she got up early in the morning, she immediately noticed that something was wrong.

Several personal items and jewelry were stolen from a box that Walden had kept in her handbag. A ring that Morgan gave his wife for their fifth wedding anniversary is said to have been stolen. "My bag was upside down on the sofa, the box in which I keep my jewelry was empty," explained the columnist and book author. The thieves would have sneaked in and stood very close to her and her husband, who was also sleeping.

Morgan does not comment at first

According to Walden, it was the last day of their vacation together on the Côte d'Azur - they both wanted to return to Great Britain the following day. You have already prepared everything for departure. As the "Telegraph" reported, citing police information, the thieves apparently left the villa after hearing how Walden had switched off their alarm clock.

Morgan did not initially comment on the incident. He only announced on Twitter that he would be hosting his breakfast TV show "Good Morning Britain" again from September 1st.

Morgan, 55, and his wife, eleven years his junior, have been married for ten years. The two have a daughter. The presenter inherited talk legend Larry King on CNN with his own show in 2011. After three years, the program was canceled, among other things because of falling audience ratings.
