As early as Friday night, the meteorologists of the German Weather Service (DWD) expect the "advance of a cold front with rain and thunderstorms in their luggage," as a spokesman said.
The cold front would then lie across the center of Germany, from Saarland to Western Pomerania. "Before that there is a lot of sunshine and, in isolated cases, the possibility of heat thunderstorms," said the meteorologist. These could also be strong.
Only in the northwest half was it initially cloudy to very cloudy on Friday. Temperatures of up to 37 degrees are possible again, in the northwest with thunderstorms and showers 26 to 31 degrees. In the course of the day, individual strong thunderstorms in the North Sea area and from the Ruhr area to Western Pomerania cannot be ruled out.
According to the information, the cooler air prevails on Saturday, the temperatures drop to 22 to 28 degrees, except in southeast Bavaria, where another 30 degrees can be reached. In the southeast, strong thunderstorms with severe weather potential cannot be excluded. Otherwise it loosens up and the sun shows up again and again. According to the DWD, there is lightning and thunder in the northwest from time to time, while otherwise it usually remains dry.
Sunday brings a change of sun and clouds, but also showers and a few brief thunderstorms in the northwest. At the edge of the Alps, rain falls even longer. The temperatures are between 20 and 26 degrees.
