Duchess Meghan is considered a sharp critic of US President Donald Trump. And although she did not mention his name, it should be clear what she is aiming for with her appeal to US citizens.

"We all know what's at stake this year," said the 39-year-old as a guest at an online meeting ahead of the November 3rd election. "We can change something with this choice."

Duchess Meghan had attended to encourage women to cast their votes in the US presidential election in November. She was "really excited" to participate in the virtual election call for the non-profit organization "When We All Vote", said the native American at the beginning of her four-minute speech.

The royal family has traditionally been politically neutral

Their participation had previously met with criticism. Angry British people on social media called for the Duchess of Sussex to give up her title as she interfered in U.S. political affairs. The online meeting under the hashtag #whenallwomenvote pursued the goal of reaching 300,000 women via SMS messages and motivating them to register for the elections.

The "When we all vote" initiative was founded in 2018 by former First Lady Michelle Obama, among others. Her husband, ex-President Barack Obama, recently criticized his Republican successor Trump very sharply at the US Democratic party conference.

Only a few months ago, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan had withdrawn from the British royal family. Since then, they have been carefully looking for the public, Prince Harry recently attacked social networks.

Despite their separation from royalty, they are still royals. Members of the royal family traditionally do not vote; but there is no law on this. Queen Elizabeth II is politically neutral. Meghan had mentioned in an interview with the magazine "Marie Claire" that she would cast her vote in the US elections.

After working in Canada and the US metropolis Los Angeles, Harry and Meghan now live with their one-year-old son Archie in the California coastal city of Santa Barbara.
