"By midnight tomorrow all the migrants present in the hot-spots and in every reception center in Sicily will have to be transferred to structures outside the island without delay". The ordinance signed during the night by the Sicilian Governor Nello Musumeci provides for this. The measure was taken - explains Musumeci - because "currently it is not possible to guarantee a stay on the island in compliance with the health measures to prevent contagion". "The Sicilian Region, through the territorially competent ASPs, - continues the ordinance - makes available to the national authorities the personnel necessary for health checks to allow the transfer of migrants in safety". The 33-page provision signed by Musumeci also states that "in order to protect and guarantee public health and safety, in the absence of suitable reception facilities, it is forbidden to enter, transit and stop in the territory of the Sicilian Region by every migrant who reaches the Sicilian coasts with large and small boats, including those of NGOs "" Failure to comply with the obligations set out in this ordinance entails the sanctioning consequences provided for by the law in force ", he concludes.

Meanwhile, two small boats of migrants were hooked up, starting from dawn, in the waters in front of Lampedusa (Ag) where 28 landed. In the first boat there were 13 Tunisians and in the second there were 15. The two groups were taken to the hotspot of the Imbriacola district, a structure that has already been left by 41 migrants who have been boarded on the ferry to Porto Empedocle (Ag) where they will arrive tomorrow morning and from where they will be transferred to the reception center in Caltanissetta. From Friday to today, a total of 337 migrants have been transferred from Lampedusa on the instructions of the Prefecture of Agrigento. At the moment, just under 1,200 people remain on the island: about a thousand at the hotspot and just under 200 at the Casa della Fraternità, local parish. (
