Forest fires have been hitting the north of the province of Córdoba for a week and moving towards the town of Charbonier , where the police keep provincial route 38 completely cut off while residents of the area are evacuated.

Due to the flames, the traffic of National Route 8 was also interrupted in the town of Reducción, in the department of Juárez Celman. The provincial government reported that "extreme weather conditions hinder the work of firefighters who are trapped by fire."

The cut on route 38 is made from kilometer 91 to 119. On national route 8 the cut is total at kilometer 595 due to poor visibility due to smoke.

Cordovan authorities assured that an uncontrolled fire is advancing towards the area of ​​Capilla del Monte and Cruz del Eje, in the Ischilín and Punilla departments where 170 firefighters with auto pumps and tanker trucks are working.

The Ischillín department was affected in recent days with fires that burned grasslands and mountains in several fields.

On the other hand, on Saturday two other fires were contained in the province: the first is the one that affected the area called Todos los Santos, where teams of volunteer firefighters from Totoral, Tulumba, Salsipuedes and La Granja were displaced.

The second took place in Manfredi, burning corn and sorghum stubble, a place where troops from the Oliva, Oncativo, Pilar, Laguna Larga, Río Segundo and Manfredi barracks worked, with the assistance of a provincial hydrant plane.

The risk of forest fires continues to be very high , while the weather forecast indicates that some relief could arrive in the middle of the week, which has not occurred in great intensity since April.
