(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 23 AUG - The Food and Drug Administration (Fda) has granted the authorization for the emergency use (Eua) of the plasma of convalescent subjects in the treatment against ilcovid-19. This was announced by President Donald Trump in a press conference at the White House. "It's a historic announcement," he said, calling it a "powerful therapy". Trump assured that the decision "has nothing to do with politics".
According to the head of the Food and Drug Administration Stephen Hahn, the therapy is "potentially promising" and he pointed out that it is not a traditional authorization, but an expansion of the use of plasma of convalescent subjects in the treatment against covid-19. The president then appealed to people recovered from the coronavirus to donate plasma.
