The lights in the Berlin BuzzFeed editorial office are not going out. In April it was said that if a financially strong partner could not be found quickly, the German branch of the US news portal was about to end. This partner has now been found: Ippen Digital joins BuzzFeed Germany.

A press release states that BuzzFeed Germany will develop its brands BuzzFeed, BuzzFeed News and Einfach Tasty in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with Ippen Digital in the future. At the end of the year, they should become part of the Ippen Digital editorial network.

The editorial team should fully participate in the change and will be further expanded in the future. The investigative team should also provide impulses for the Ippen central editorial team in the future. According to Buzzfeed CEO Jonah Peretti, it is hoped that the collaboration will enable them to reach a larger target group. Global advertising partnerships are to be jointly developed in the future.

Ippen Digital is backed by one of the largest daily newspaper conglomerates in Germany. The group belongs to Dirk Ippen's empire with daily newspapers such as "Münchner Merkur", "tz" and "Westfälischer Anzeiger". Ippen Digital was founded in 2006 by Ippen's son Jan and supplies all online editions of newspapers with uniform content.
