Advertising planes, pulling banners, will they definitely disappear from French beaches? As we told you a few days ago, their existence is threatened today. The final report of the Citizens' Convention for the Climate indeed proposes their ban and the deputy Matthieu Orphelin tabled a bill to this effect at the end of July.

To protest against this possible ban - which has not yet been enacted to date - professionals organized an action on Tuesday around noon.
Several ULMs (motorized ultralights) took off from Valras-Plage (Hérault) towards Montpellier. The planes towed several banners. "Mr. Macron, help us" , could one read in particular on one of them.

For us, a ban would be a disaster
Roland Vidal, manager of the Sauvian baseRoland Vidal is behind this action. He has been the new manager of the Sauvian base (Hérault) since April. He took over this business with Corinne Andreu, the spouse of the former owner.
“ We have invested several hundred thousand euros. We live 90% from aerial advertising , ”explains Roland Vidal, who has 9 ULMs in total. He continues: “ This is our first year and it is already very complicated with the Covid. For us, a ban would be a disaster. I'm at zero morale, I can't take it anymore ”.
Roland Vidal feels a deep sense of injustice. He believes that we are attacking the " small " rather than the " big ". " What kills us is that we consume 16 liters per hour while the yachts consume 500 liters per hour ", he criticizes.
