New restrictions for France from a European country: after the United Kingdom which imposes a fortnight on travelers arriving from France, Germany placed the Ile-de-France regions on Monday evening, with Paris, and Provence-Alpes-Côte D'Azur in risk areas: involved, the high number of cases of coronavirus infections, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The number of new Covid-19 infections in these regions exceeds the ceiling of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over seven days, he explains.
The ministry warns on its website against "tourist travel, not essential" to these regions, which means that travelers returning to Germany will have to undergo a drug test and observe a quarantine while waiting for the result.
In addition, Berlin has also placed French Guiana in the category of regions at risk and "urgently advises against" any travel to other overseas territories.
The return of holidaymakers particularly scrutinized
The ministry has recently increased the number of warnings on travel, particularly to Brussels, part of the tourist coasts of Croatia or Spain, the favorite holiday destination of the Germans who go there each year by millions.
Germany is on the alert in the face of a growing second wave threat and Chancellor Angela Merkel last week ruled out any measure to ease current health rules, such as wearing masks on public transport, shops and restaurants.
Considered a model in its management of the Covid-19 pandemic in Europe, the country is also experiencing a resurgence of new infections suspected of being linked in part to the return of holidaymakers.

Berlin reported more than 700 new cases in 24 hours on Monday, but on average that number has been over a thousand in recent weeks. The number of new daily cases now exceeds 2,000, according to official figures released last Saturday. A level that had not been reached since the end of April, the authorities had indicated. So far the number of new daily cases remained comparable to those recorded during the month of May, which saw the beginning of the epidemic ebb.
