(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 25 - An attack in the crowded hall of an opera house, crackling of shots, with a great profusion of deafening basses, and then only one hundred explosions, gastossics and soldiers armed to the teeth. This is the incipit of Tenet by Christopher Nolan, an auteur blockbuster par excellence, with a pinch of esotericism, the end of the world, and above all loss, the one that captures the viewer in front of a film that eats time, where in the same scene in parallel flow linear and past time together. And a leap into the past, pre-covid, Nolan's film really does it as much as acopie: 700 distributed by Warner since August 26th. Yet the eleventh film by the British director - shot in seven countries with a high technical level (a combination of Imax and 70mm cameras) and with a budget of 220 million dollars - after the noises begins with a remark by Henry Miller: "We live in a twilight world ". A catchphrase in Tenet that has as main protagonists the athletic John David Washington (son of Denzel) and Robert Pattinson struggling with an evil Russian tycoon, Andrei Sator (Kenneth Branagh). A billionaire with an exaggerated yacht that together with his filiform companion, Kat (Elizabeth Debicki), seems to have in hand the threads of time, like the possibility of causing the third world war. However, the ambiguous, reversible weather is on stage throughout the film, with the sea water retreating instead of refracting on the hull of a ship that in turn is sailing in reverse. And this also applies to the car which, after being overturned during an adrenaline-pumping chase, returns perfectly intact. (HANDLE).
