Jacob Blake, an African-American father of three, was shot seven times in the back by police in Kenocha, Wisconsin on Sunday. The victim was hospitalized and is in serious condition according to doctors. Jacob Blake was injured by police intervening for "a domestic incident", but the exact reason for their intervention is not yet known. According to Ben Crump, the victim's lawyer, Jacob Blake was in the process of separating two women who were arguing before joining his vehicle. It was when the father was entering his vehicle that the police shot him in the back, at close range. The family defender revealed that "Jacob Blake's three children were in the vehicle" as police opened fire on their father who was on the driver's side.
Sunday evenings and Monday evenings were punctuated by incidents, which erupted in Kenocha and protests took place in other major cities in the United States. The state of Wisconsin opened a criminal investigation on Monday and the officers involved were fired, authorities said.
