The first detainees landed this morning, confident that they could enter the country under the directive that entry will be restricted only from the beginning of September. "Israel Today" received videos and evidence that Israelis did not receive water and food for a long time and some even needed medical treatment.

About 100 Breslav followers and other Israelis were allowed to enter Ukraine tonight (Thursday) after being detained at airports in Odessa and Kiev immediately after landing early in the morning. In the videos obtained by "Israel Today", Israelis were seen suffering from hunger. They also said that they did not receive water and food for long hours and there were even some who needed medical treatment.

Israelis detained at an airport in Ukraine

The first Israeli detainees landed in Odessa this morning, shortly after 04:00, when they were sure they could enter the country, after Ukrainian President Vladimir Zlansky announced that foreign nationals would not be able to enter the country from the beginning of September. Those Israeli passengers realized that there were a few more days until Zalanski's directive took effect and brought forward their flight to Ukraine, hoping to enter the country before the order went into effect.

The Ukrainian airline "Ukrainian International Airlines" realized the potential and added no less than four more flights to date, in addition to the existing two. All flights were filled quickly.

The Israeli passengers were taken immediately after landing for questioning in a side room, where a researcher and interpreter were sitting. According to the passengers, the interrogation was short. According to them, the decision whether to bring them into the Ukraine or transfer them to the waiting room was mainly due to their appearance - a religious Jewish appearance that apparently indicates their intention to go to Uman.

Israelis from Odessa Airport also said that minorities and Russian-speaking Israelis were allowed to enter the country without any problem, which means that it is possible that the initial decision of the Ukrainians was not sweeping on all foreign nationals or all Israelis who came to the country, but on religious Israelis.

From videos obtained by "Israel Today" quite a few Israelis were seen suffering from hunger, one of the children as you can see in the picture wrote on the page "We are hungry". Israelis present at the place tell "Israel Today" that they did not receive water and food for long hours and there were even some who needed medical treatment. All Israelis were transferred to a side room without the possibility of purchasing food and without the possibility of leaving the open air.

It is important to note that after the publication of the videos and photos, as first published on the "Israel Today" website, members of the Jewish community in the area arrived in order to try and help those Israelis at the airport. Members of the Jewish community provided food and drink.

During the tour of Ben Gurion Airport, you could see quite a few followers who came with the intention of flying to Ukraine, in a conversation with some of them they say that, "We travel to make an effort to reach the Rebbe, we do our best, it is a matter of faith and it is a test of faith The story, being with the Rebbe is the story and if there are demonstrations in Balfour or Tel Aviv when tens of thousands gather without masks then why can it not be confirmed? "As you hear religious belief and a bit of straight-laced Judaism jumps at the anti-people, stop it."

In retrospect, it turns out that the experience paid off for them and most of them received permission to enter the country after long hours of suffering and waiting. The decision was made to allow Israelis to enter the country until midnight yesterday.

Moshe Griffin, an Israeli who spoke to us from the waiting room in Odessa a few hours before their passports were returned and allowed to enter Ukraine, said, "We arrived here early in the morning on a regular flight and when they entered Ukraine, secular and Arab Jews entered the country and us. Without food and drink, we are afraid to take pictures because the police are beating us, I am very afraid to talk to you, there is a policeman here who beat a Jew because he went up the stairs slowly. I'm trying to understand how the government works, if you know we can not go in. From this blessing. "
