The reason: "Tagesschau" spokeswoman and author Linda Zervakis had sweaty visiting her colleagues. "I would say there was chaos in the schedule," said the 45-year-old.
Instead of sitting in Düsseldorf, Zervakis sat in her living room in Hamburg: "It's my first switch in slippers," she joked.
Apparently she had only found out about the planning error shortly before and had assumed up to then to appear on the show on Friday: "I got a call earlier - like this: Where are you, we would like to pick you up at the hotel?" Then she thought: "Which hotel, why Düsseldorf, I wanted to take the train there tonight."
She even missed the "Tagesschau" "actually for the first time now in Corona times", she confessed, even if "thank God" it wasn't the important 8 p.m. edition. Half an hour before the broadcast she received a call from the editorial team: "Where are you? (...) We need you, you will be broadcast soon." She replied that she was home. Then a colleague stepped in.
