With the work entitled "King Nyani", the British-Australian artist duo known as "Gillie and Marc" wants to promote the protection of this endangered species.
In a park in western Manhattan, the sculpture, which shows a lying gorilla, immediately became a popular photo opportunity. Children and adults mainly posed in the animal's right hand, which it holds in front of its body.
