Tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets today in Minsk for a new day of protest calling for President Aleksandar Lukashenko to leave the scene, despite a massive deployment of police forces, with heavily armed agents, dozens of people arrested and the army blocking the streets and squares of the Belarusian capital.
It is the third week of protest, triggered by the elections of last August 9 in which Lukashenko claimed victory.
