(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 30 - Glastonbury 2021 will be held next June, not September as previously hypothesized: after the cancellation of this year's edition - last March, due to coronavirus - the organizers of the famous British music festival confirmed that the appointment is for next summer.
It was tweeted today by Emily Eavis, daughter of the founder of the festival - Michael Eavis - who had said in recent months that the fate of next year's edition was uncertain because of the pandemic. "For those who have asked, we are not planning to move Glastonbury next year to September 2021, we are still aiming a lot for June", wrote the Eavis, underlining in a subsequent tweet that very few have asked for a refund for the missed 2020 edition and therefore " next year's festival remains sold out ".
This year's edition, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of Glastonbury's birth in 1970, was heralded as one of the greatest ever. (HANDLE).
