"Our slogan for the referendum is 'Now or Never' because by voting for the Yes we cut 345 MPs. Otherwise everything remains as it is". This was reiterated by Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio speaking in Pozzuoli, during his two-day tour in Campania.
"We have a large number of parliamentarians for a noble principle. We came out of fascism and our constituent fathers, lacking the solidity of institutions at the territorial level, thought that the presence of a high number of parliamentarians better represented all citizens. But from then to today they are born: the regions, the provinces, the municipalities, the neighborhood councils, the metropolitan cities and the mountain communities that reach the sea. I think we have enough representatives and therefore we can cut some parliamentarians ".
