Special envoy to Perpignan
There was a crowd, Saturday August 29 at 9 am, under the vault with painted arches of the room of the Convent of the Minimes in Perpignan for the official inauguration of the 32nd International Photojournalism Festival. International in spirit and themes, as is the tradition of Visa pour l'image, an ardent activist of the photo-reportage, even if this vintage under a pandemic has been reduced to 20 exhibitions, compared to the usual 25, and to only two places where only one-way traffic was possible (neither Hotel Pams, nor Convention Center, nor screenings at Campo Santo). A 2020 festival not really international in terms of its audience. Nor by its artists, who came in droplets, such as the American from Paris, Peter Turnley or the Dutch Sanne Derks, so many borders have closed and made travel uncertain. Since Friday evening, Perpignan had been on alert for storms and floods. The traditional speeches were therefore repatriated inside this Convent of the Counter-Reformation.
